WHO WE ARE
WHO WE ARE
National Queer Theater is an innovative theater collective dedicated to celebrating the brilliance of generations of LGBTQ artists and providing a home for unheard storytellers and activists. By serving our elders, youth, and working professionals, NQT creates a more just future through radical and evocative theater experiences and free community classes.

CRIMINAL QUEERNESS FESTIVAL
This pride, you are invited to witness new plays from three East African LGBTQIA+ writers fighting criminalization through their art.
The Criminal Queerness Festival is back at Lincoln Center in the David Rubenstein Atrium from June 21st to 24th.

EDUCATION
We partner with community-based nonprofit organizations serving marginalized LGBTQ communities.
Our programs serve people living with HIV and empower youth, elders, activists, and educators through the transformative power of theater.

NEW PLAYS
We invest supporting in early-career LGBTQ playwrights through readings, workshops, and more.
We are passionate about promoting the creation of new plays by writers of marginalized backgrounds to diversify the existing American theatrical landscape.
LAND ACKNOWLEDGEMENT
National Queer Theater acknowledges that our programs are on the ancestral land of the Lenape and Canarsie people. We pay respect to their ancestors and descendants, and especially celebrate our queer and Two Spirit indigenous communities.

SUPPORT US
National Queer Theater works tirelessly to support queer communities through social justice-based performing arts programming, but we cannot operate without the kindness of people like you.
