The part-time Queer Theater Alliance Coordinator (REMOTE) will serve as the central and sole organizer of the Queer Theater Alliance, a coalition of queer theater leaders across the United States who meet monthly to strengthen the field of queer theater.
The position starts January 15, 2022 beginning with a three month trial period reporting to Adam Odsess-Rubin, Founding Artistic Director of National Queer Theater (New York City), in partnership with Paul Conroy, Founder and Producing Artistic Director of Out Front Theater (Atlanta). This position will be remote with flexible hours around monthly meetings.
Core Responsibilities: Set up and facilitate monthly Zoom meetings between members. This includes scheduling, setting up Zoom meetings, facilitating dialogues, writing/sending agendas, and taking meeting minutes. Manage membership committees such as Artistic, Education and Advocacy, and Fundraising committees. Ensure each committee is staffed, meeting regularly, and reporting back to the alliance at monthly meetings. Maintain a member database, shared Google Drive, and member communications through email, Slack, or other means. Support QTA marketing, including social media posting, newsletters, and website development/updates. Coordinate special projects as determined by the alliance.
An ideal candidate will have: A strong passion for nonprofit management, arts leadership, and/or community organizing. Ability to take initiative and work with multiple different constituents. Experience working in intersectional LGBTQ communities. The ability to communicate and collaborate closely with a small team. Demonstrated written and oral communication skills. Commitment to anti-racist and Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion (EDI) principals and practices. Proficiency in Gmail, Google Calendar, Instagram for Business, and Zoom. Web design/maintenance skills are a plus (eg. Wix, Wordpress, Squarespace). Seeking to learn and grow with a startup performing arts coalition.
$20 per hour for 12 hours per month paid in monthly installments on 1099 with opportunities for growth.
